The owners had bought an 1850s historic house in Beverly, MA near the waterfront. With two
young daughters and only 1 bathroom, getting out the door in the morning was taking too long.
The original goal was to give the existing master bedroom a dedicated bathroom. A careful re-
think to that assumption produced a new junior bedroom, a relocated attic stair, a new corridor,
additional closet space and a much more usable and safer plan without expanding the original
footprint.
